Fraud Fighter Awards

*Nominations will be accepted from January 1 through February 28, 2026.  

The Virginia State Police Insurance Fraud Program presents the annual Fraud Fighter Awards to individuals who make exemplary contributions to help stamp out fraud across the Commonwealth. In order to be considered for a Fraud Fighter Award, the following criteria must be met:

  • Nominees must be a member of an insurance company’s fraud investigation unit, a commonwealth’s attorney or a member of Virginia’s law enforcement community.
  • Nominations should provide in-depth information about how the nominee contributed to the investigation or prosecution of insurance fraud in Virginia.

The Fraud Fighter Awards will be presented on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hilton Richmond Hotel – Short Pump.

  • Please describe the nominee’s extraordinary contributions in the course of preventing, investigating, or prosecuting insurance fraud for the calendar year 2025.

    Nominees should be able to demonstrate significant efforts in one or more of the following areas:
    • Involvement and contributions to investigations
    • Proactive prevention activities
    • Enforcement
    • Interaction with the insurance industry
    • Financial impact (recoveries/restitution)
